Development and Reversion of Chlorfluazuron Resistance in Diamondback Moth
نویسندگان
چکیده
Selection of two strains (TL and BK) of diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.) with chlorfluazuron has produced high levels of resistance in comparatively short time (9 and 10 generations). The resistance ratio values reached 276and 216-fold, for TL and BK strains, respectively. The BK strain developed about 80-fold resistance level after only three selection generations with chlorfluazuron, suggesting that the resistance gene(s) has, in large measure, been kept in the population. On release from chlorfluazuron selection for two generations, both strains showed no reversion in susceptibility level. Cross-resistance studies revealed very low or no correlation between chlorfluazuron resistance and all insecticides tested in both strains, except teflubenzuron. The two strains showed a slight increase in teflubenzuron resistance level as indicated by resistance ratio values. Heritability (h2) values for the TL strain was significantly higher than that for the BK strain (0.27 for the TLS strain and 0.064 for the BK strain).

Biochemical and physiological characteristics in chlorfluazuron resistant diamondback moth
Diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae) showed a high resistance to chlorfluazuron by laboratory selection. However, this resistance was not stable under the laboratory condition without chlorfluazuron selection. When in vivo metabolism of 14C-chlorfluazuron was studied, higher metabolic activities were observed in the chlorfluazuron resistant strain than in the ...

Diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella L. is the most injurious defoliage insect pest of canola in Ardabil province of Iran. It occurs annually and causes damage in canola fields. This study was performed to identify QTLs controlling resistance to diamondback moth using SSR and RAPD markers. An F2:4 population of 180 families derived from crossing between cv. ‘SLMO46’ and cv. ‘Quantum’ wer...
متن کاملDeltamethrin resistance in some diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella populations in Iran
The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella has been developed resistance to many groups of pesticides including of pyrethroids. The present study was conducted to evaluate the toxicity of deltamethrin on the third instar larvae of six populations of the pest using leaf dipping method. The results showed that different populations had different susceptibilities to deltamethrin. At the LC50 level,...

The origin and insecticide resistance status of Diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella) populations infesting canola, vegetables, forage brassicas and weeds has fundamental implications for management of the pest in Australia. Diamondback moth is considered a migratory species in the Northern Hemisphere, but although there is evidence that Diamondback moth moves en-masse throughout Australia in ...
